….. Solicits Support For Solar Installation Within Library Premises.
In continuation of his effort to improve library services in the State, the Chairman of the Board, Hon.Yemi Taiwo paid another courtesy visit to the Commissioner for Energy & Mineral Resources, Barr. Seun Ashamu.
The Chairman of the Oyo State Library Board, Hon. Yemi Taiwo, paid a courtesy visit on Friday to the Commissioner for Energy, Barrister Seun Ashamu, to solicit his support for the installation of solar lights in the premises of the State Library Board Headquarters Complex to deter miscreants from lurking around the premises.
Hon. Yemi Taiwo further explained that the installation of solar lights would not only enhance security within the library but also reduce the cost of electricity bills.
In his remarks, Barr. Seun Ashamu, the Commissioner for Energy, pledged his support for the project and promised to work with the Library Board to ensure that the installation is carried out as soon as possible.
He also commended the Library Board for their efforts in promoting literacy and education in Oyo State. He equally gave insights on how he perceived the Library Board couldn’t catch the younger ones young.
The visit by the Chairman of the Library Board is part of a series of efforts by the board to improve library services in the State.
The Board has also embarked on a campaign to increase public awareness about the importance of libraries and their role in promoting education and literacy.
