To promote gender equality and enhance the well-being of women in Ibadan South West Local Government, Chief Mrs Mojoyinola Akande, wife of the Chairman, organized a pivotal gathering with influential women stakeholders from the local government.
The meeting, which held at the local government secretariat, was attended by prominent women leaders and executives, including Mrs Sidikat Adigun, Mrs Odekanmi, Director of Education and Social Services, Nurse Victoria Omolola, Dr Funmi, and all the women executives and leaders of Ibadan South West Local Government.
During the meeting, Chief Mrs Akande emphasized the importance of women’s empowerment and its impact on community development. She encouraged the women to take active roles in leadership and decision-making processes, and to support one another in their endeavors.
The meeting also featured discussions on various issues affecting women and children in the local government, including education, healthcare, and economic empowerment.
In her remarks, Wife of Vice Chairman of the council, Mrs Sidikat Adigun commended Chief Mrs Akande for her initiative and commitment to women’s empowerment, while Mrs Odekanmi highlighted the importance of education and social services in uplifting the female community.
Nurse Victoria Omolola and Dr Funmi also made valuable contributions to the discussion, emphasizing the need for healthcare and economic empowerment programs tailored to women’s needs. A basic medical checkup was provided for the well-being of all participants.
The meeting ended with a resolution to establish a women’s empowerment program in Ibadan South West Local Government, with Chief Mrs Akande pledging to provide support and resources for the initiative.
