The Oyo State Hospital Management Board has conducted a Multiple Choice Test (MCQ) for medical health workers in the state to fill the gaps left by those who have retired or traveled abroad seeking better opportunities.
The MCQ test was held at the College of Medicine halls, Lead City University, Ibadan, for 1,250 shortlisted applicants who received messages via SMS or Email from the board, and an additional 850 applicants who did not receive messages due to various issues.
The Honorable Commissioner for Health, Dr. Mrs. Oluwaserimi Ajetunmobi, represented by Dr. Faleye, advised applicants to conduct themselves properly, stating, “If the foundation is faulty, the head cannot stand.”
Dr. Ajetunmobi commended the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engr. Oluseyi Makinde, for approving the recruitment to fill vacancies in the health sector, especially during this era of healthcare professionals seeking opportunities abroad.
The Chairman of OYSHMB, Dr. Akin Fagbemi, thanked His Excellency Engr. Oluseyi Makinde for supporting the recruitment process.
He recalled that the governor approved the recruitment of health workers a few months ago.
Dr. Fagbemi emphasized that Omi-Tuntun 2.0 focuses on sustainable development, with healthcare playing a crucial role in achieving the governor’s vision.
He explained that the examination was not a Computer-Based Test (CBT) but a Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) test to assess technical abilities.
Dr. Fagbemi appreciated the Vice Chancellor, Professor Adeyemi, and his management team for allowing the use of the college’s facilities.
The Permanent Secretary, Dr. Anifat Ibraheem, thanked His Excellency Engr. Oluseyi Makinde for his support in hiring qualified individuals into the health sector.
She stated that the Hospital Management Board is recruiting professionals aged 18-50, as per civil service requirements, for various positions, including Medical Officer, Pharmacist, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Medical Laboratory Scientist, and more.
