Oyo First Lady, Mrs Tamunominini Makinde, has called on women to strive towards nation building, stating that women are naturally empowered to reshape the nation and must leverage on their strength to exhibit potential inherent in them optimally.

Speaking on Friday in Ibadan at the Female Leadership Legends program tagged “Pioneering Women For The Good of Society,” which was organized by the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde on Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon. Ramata Agberemi Dabo, she explained that women have potential that, if appropriately unleashed, could transform the society.

The First Lady, who commended Agberemi RAD on the laudable initiative, said the essence of the event was to inspire one another.

She encouraged the women to go out and work on their area of strength and its mandate, adding that women have the power to shape the future, to be leaders, and to be agents of positive change.

The First Lady maintained that women must continue to break down barriers that limit their progress, challenge stereotypes, and foster an environment of equal opportunity for all.

Female Legends who also attended the leadership program, charged women to encourage and strengthen one another as well as avoid a pull down syndrome.

They equally urged women to seek leadership as a calling and urged them to do more for themselves while also tasked parents to take their roles seriously.

Earlier in her remarks, the Convener, Mrs Ramata Agberemi Dabo explained that the leadership program was organized to promote the exchange of ideas, experiences and strategies among women leaders.

According to her, the purpose of the Female Leadership Legend Program is to recognize, celebrate, and empower women leaders who have made significant contributions in their fields and communities.

She added: “This program is designed to create a platform where female leaders can share their experiences, inspire others, and collectively work towards advancing gender equality and leadership opportunities for women.

“By highlighting the achievements of these extraordinary women, the program aims to motivate the next generation of female leaders and foster a supportive network of empowere women.”

Some participants at the event who could not hide their feelings for the laudable initiative by Hon. Ramata Agberemi said the event was an eye opener and an opportunity to connect with legends with intimidating profile.

A participant wrote on instagram: “Honorable Ramat, thank you for this initiative, you gave a lot of opportunities platforms for women yesterday. A dream come through for many women. A BIG smile and every reason to persevere.

Another one wrote: “To all the legends with whom I connected and bonded today, you are all super amazing! Today’s event was an eye opener. I was able to learn, unlearn and relearn. Hon RAD, thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to meet divas with intimidating profile, you are not just an ordinary woman( RAD), you are an angel in human form.

Others wrote: “It’s beyond amazing, it’s powerful, beautiful and loaded. A deep appreciation to Honorable RAD, the Amazingly Beautiful speakers, every words spoken were word on marbles, from qualities of leadership to SWOT analysis to self affirmation and determination.

Highpoint of the event was presentation of an Iconic Female Legend award to the wife of the Governor for her supportive role.

The mission of the Female Leadership Legend Program is to build a vibrant community of female leaders who are committed to excellence, influence, and positive impact.

The program seeks to also amplify the voices of women in leadership roles across various sectors; Provide mentorship and support to emerging female leaders; Promote the exchange of ideas, experiences, and strategies among women leaders; Advocate for policies and initiatives that enhance women’s leadership opportunities, and Inspire and empower women to take on leadership roles in their communities and beyond.

The Guest Speakers include: Dr. Tinu Smith is a multiple award winning Nigerian Based fashion designer, and the Chief Executive Officer of Datina Designs Fashion House and Fashion School.

Aduragbemi Animasawun-Euba is a Nigerian
Entrepreneur, movie producer, actor, fashion designer, philanthropist and politician. She is also the confounder and managing director of ‘Deborah Animasawun Foundation’.

Dr Oyenike Abiodun Adeleke, popularly called Oyenike is a business consultant and a motivational speaker. She is also into entrepreneurship development, cooperate branding and heads an NGO.

Dr Mrs Olufunke Adetuberu is a philanthropist,radio talk show host and an inspirational speaker who draws her picture from the scriptures. She has a heart for youth and women to see them become blessing to their world,founder of the WOMEN COLLEGE MINISTRY a training around that help to build women.

Among those in attendance were Commissioner For Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Soliu Adelabu; Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Wasilat Adegoke; House of Assembly member, Hon. Funke Comforter Olajide and host of others.
