Omi-Apata L.C.D.A boss; Barr. Olayemi Oluwasina, share a heartwarming tale of discovery, determination, and collective action, highlighting the transformative power of community engagement in shaping the future of our children.
“As I made my way to the Ido LG Secretariat on Tuesday, I stumbled upon a heartwarming scene that left an indelible mark on my heart. In a bushy field, I saw a group of little children engaged in a lively play session. Curiosity got the better of me, and I decided to investigate further.
To my surprise, they were students of Onikede Baptist Primary School, Ido.The head teacher and assistant head teacher shared their challenges with me, and I was deeply moved by their plight.
Determined to make a positive impact, I returned to the school the following day with our Ag. HLGA and the head of the Environment Department. We took immediate action to address the school’s deplorable condition.
We utilized the Omi-Apata LCDA lawn mower to clear the overgrown premises, and I donated herbicide for future maintenance.
The transformation was nothing short of remarkable, and the children’s faces lit up with joy. In a touching display of gratitude, they sang all the stanzas of the Nigerian national anthem without a single mistake – a feat I couldn’t match, knowing only the first stanza!
This experience reinforced my belief in the importance of collective efforts in shaping the future of our children.
I urge well-meaning individuals, private entities, and old students of the school to join forces with the government to create a conducive learning environment at Onikede Baptist Primary School.
Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of these talented and enthusiastic young minds.
Let us rise to the challenge and empower the next generation to reach their full potential.
