As part of efforts to checkmate the menace of incessant attack by hoodlums on some innocent citizens, the lawmaker representing Ibadan North East/South East federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Rep Abass Adigun Agboworin, on Thursday, commenced the construction of a police station in his Constituency.
The police station, which is located at Alafara-Atipe community, Ward 7 area of Ibadan North East local government area, is strategically positioned to address the issue of insecurity of lives and properties in the area when completed.
The flag-off ceremony, attended by stakeholders within the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), community leaders, and residents, marked the beginning of a new era in safety and security for the people of the constituency.
Chairman of the PDP, Ibadan North East local government area, Alhaji Isiaka Fatokun (Baba Abuye), and other Excos of the party in the constituency, while performing the groundbreaking on behalf of the lawmaker, appreciated Agboworin for his quality representation, saying “he is a rare lawmaker in this generation.”
“He is in Abuja but remembers home frequently. Every three months, he must come home with something to give to his constituents. He has facilitated a lot of projects and we are proud of him,” he added.
The Chairman of the Community Development Association, Ward 7, Chief Osuolale Ifaniyi, who also spoke on the development, described Agboworin as a committed and passionate politician who caters more for the needs of his people rather than being selfish.
“We have seen a lot of good things he has been doing in this constituency and we cannot stop appreciating his deeds. He is leaving his own to cater for the needs of his people. God will continue to support him,” Ifaniyi stated.
Other party Excos who spoke in turns, maintained that the project is a significant step towards enhancing security and community policing in the constituency, applauding Agboworin for facilitating such project.
According to them, the project will stem the tide of crime and criminalities within the area.
