Abuja — The political atmosphere at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Secretariat in Abuja intensified on Monday as key party leaders arrived for a crucial engagement with the party’s national leadership.

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, newly elected PDP National Chairman Dr. Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, and National Secretary Amb. Taofeek Arapaja all arrived the secretariat in a coordinated entry accompanied by their official security details.
Upon arrival, the delegation proceeded directly to the National Executive Committee (NEC) Hall, where the current party leadership led by acting National Chairman Mohammed Abdulrahman was already in session.

Their presence drew considerable attention as it comes at a sensitive period for the party, following the emergence of Turaki and Arapaja at the recent PDP National Convention in Ibadan. Security presence around the secretariat was visibly heightened, signaling the importance of the meeting underway.

As of press time, details of the closed-door engagement remained unclear. Party insiders, however, suggest that discussions may be centered around reconciliation efforts, the formal handover process, and alignment of leadership structures following the convention.
The visit underscores ongoing moves by senior PDP stakeholders to stabilize the party and strengthen internal cohesion ahead of upcoming political activities.
More updates expected as the situation develops.
