The First Lady of Oyo State, Engr. Tamunominini Makinde has commended the Chairman of Ibadan Northeast Local Government, Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo, for his exceptional commitment to grassroots development and service delivery.

Mrs. Makinde gave the commendation on Tuesday during a mega empowerment programme and a series of project commissioning held at the Ibadan Northeast Local Government Secretariat, Iwo Road, Ibadan.

The event featured the commissioning of a newly established Garri Processing Factory, the renovated Multipurpose Hall, and the refurbished Marriage Registry. The initiatives are part of the council’s ongoing efforts to boost local infrastructure and economic empowerment.

Speaking at the event, the First Lady described Hon. Akintayo’s leadership as “sterling and impactful,” noting that she had long been convinced of his capacity to effectively administer local government affairs. She urged other council chairmen across the state to emulate his example of visionary and inclusive governance.

“The establishment of the Garri processing factory is a step in the right direction. It will not only create employment but also enhance food production and distribution within the local government area,” she said.

Mrs. Makinde also lauded the empowerment programme organized for residents, describing it as a catalyst for increased community participation and improved quality of life.
