PDP Victory in Ibadan Bye-Election Validates Makinde’s Pro-People’s Approach” —Ibarapakan*

Member representing Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, Hon. (Dr.) Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, has congratulated Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle and His Excellency Engr Oluseyi Makinde over the victory of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ibadan North Federal Constituency bye-election held on Saturday, August 16, 2025.

According to a statement made available to newsmen in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, on Sunday by his Spokesperson, Hassan Adesodi Olaoniye, Hon. Adepoju expressed that the landslide victory recorded by the PDP reaffirms public acceptance of Governor Makinde’s leadership style in Oyo State and beyond.

The federal lawmaker also commended the peaceful and transparent process that characterised the election in all political units in Ibadan North.

“This is not only a victory for our dear party but also for the people of Ibadan North and Oyo State in general. The outcome of this election has yet again proven Engr Seyi Makinde’s popularity. It speaks to the success of his pro-people’s policies, which have brought prosperity to the residents of Oyo State despite challenging economic situations in the nation.

“I congratulate all members of our party for their efforts during the electioneering campaign, ensuring this pleasant outcome. We have shown leadership and integrity in our conduct and this is proof that the PDP is a party to beat in all elections,” the lawmaker said.

The Ibarapa-born technocrat cum politician also enjoined the lawmaker-elect to continue to be in the service of the people of Ibadan North in order to reciprocate the gesture shown to him at the polls. According to him, the PDP candidate won with over 10,000 votes, as declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), a margin he described as no mean feat.

The Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Federal Character reaffirmed his position on Hon. Folajimi’s exceptional abilities and prayed that God grant him the strength and wisdom to serve the people of Ibadan North meritoriously.
