A chieftain of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Dr Kazeem Akande, has extended his heartfelt condolences to the family of Olaide Akinremi, the lawmaker representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, who died on Wednesday.
The two-term lawmaker, also known as Jagaban had breathed his last breath at the age of 51 in a private hospital in Abuja, the Nigeria capital.
In a statement personally signed by him and made available to newsmen on Friday, he described the death of the lawmaker as a shocking and unexpected one, adding that Akinremi was a lawmaker who had the interest of his constituents, Oyo state and Nigeria in general at mind.
The philanthropist however prayed to God to grant the deceased’s family and the state, the strength to bear the sad loss.
“It is with a deep sense of sorrow that I commiserate with the family, friends and political associates of the late lawmaker, representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency, Olaide Akinremi popularly known as Jagaban. I pray God grant late Honourable Akinremi’s family the fortitude to bear the loss of the great man”, the statement reads.
