The lawmaker representing Atisbo/Saki East State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Saminu Riliwan Gbadamosi, popularly known as Wale Canada, has expressed profound shock and grief over the passing of the Alamodu of Ago-Amodu, His Royal Majesty, Oba Johnson Olaoye Olaewe II, describing the loss as colossal.

Ago-Amodu, a prominent community in Saki East Local Government Area — the home local government of the lawmaker — has been thrown into mourning following the transition of the revered monarch.

In a condolence message made available to the public, Hon. Gbadamosi described the late monarch as a highly respected royal father, custodian of cultural heritage, and a unifying figure whose reign was marked by peace, stability, and meaningful development across Ago-Amodu and its environs.

According to the lawmaker, the demise of Oba Olaewe II represents not only a huge loss to Ago-Amodu but also a significant setback to Saki East Local Government and Oyo State at large. He noted that the late monarch was instrumental in fostering unity, preserving tradition, and supporting initiatives that promoted grassroots development within the local government.

“His Royal Majesty, Oba Johnson Olaoye Olaewe II, was a father to all, a bridge-builder, and a symbol of wisdom and dignity. His counsel, leadership, and unwavering commitment to the unity and progress of Saki East will be sorely missed. His legacy will remain indelible in our hearts,” the statement read.

Hon. Gbadamosi extended his heartfelt condolences to the royal family, the Ago-Amodu Traditional Council, the people of Ago-Amodu, and the entire Saki East community who are mourning this great loss.

He prayed for the peaceful repose of the soul of the departed monarch and for divine strength and comfort for all those he left behind during this difficult period.

“May Almighty God grant Kabiyesi eternal rest and grant the family, the good people of Ago-Amodu, and the entire Saki East Local Government the fortitude to bear this irreparable and monumental loss,” he added.

The lawmaker further urged the people to take solace in the impactful life lived by the late monarch and to uphold his enduring legacy of unity, peace, and community development.
