The Oyo state Road Maintenance Agency, OYSROMA, has commiserated with the Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, over the loss of his elder brother, Engineer Sunday Makinde, who died on Friday, January 24 at the age of 65 years.
Chairman, OYSROMA, Hon. Busoye Ogunlade, in a statement in Ibadan on Saturday, said the nation and Oyo state had lost a rare gem with the demise of Engr. Makinde.
Ogunlade said the board and management of the Agency was saddened to learn of the sudden death of the deceased, adding that the loss of a sibling is painful and difficult to bear.
Mr. Ogunlade described the deceased as a humble, exceptionally brilliant and highly innovative professional.
He said that as an elder statesman, the deceased dedicated his life towards the progress and development of Oyo state.
“Late Engr. Makinde was a courageous and forthright gentleman, full of vision, realistic ideas.”
“It is indeed devastating that Engr. Sunday Makinde left the stage at this trying time when his wealth of experience are needed,” he said.
Ogunlade however, urged Governor Makinde to take courage from his Christian faith which teaches that will of God is sovereign.
He added that solace must be taken in the fact that he lived a distinguished and impactful life.
Ogunlade prayed the Almighty God to grant peaceful repose to his brother’s soul and fortitude to bear the loss.
