The Medical and Dental Consultant’s Association of Nigeria (MDCAN), Oyo state chapter, paid a courtesy visit to the Oyo State Hospitals’ Management Board (OYSHMB).
The visit was led by the chairman of MDCAN Oyo state chapter, Dr. Adesola Odofin, who introduced the new state executive members to the board.
The visit aimed to strengthen the existing relationship between MDCAN and the OYSHMB in providing good and qualitative healthcare services to the people of Oyo state.
Dr. Odofin appreciated the proactive measures taken by the chairman of the board, Dr. Akin Fagbemi, since his assumption of office.
In his remarks, The Oyo State Hospital Management Board, Dr. Akin Fagbemi advised MDCAN to encourage other medical doctors to become consultants in the nearest future.
He reaffirmed the commitment of Governor Oluseyi Makinde to providing qualitative and affordable healthcare services to the people of Oyo state under the Omi-Tuntun 2.0 initiative.
The chairman of the board emphasized the importance of MDCAN’s collaboration with the board in decision-making processes.
He urged the association not to join any strike again, as they are part of the management team.
In her address, The Permanent Secretary Oyo State Hospital Management Board, Dr. Anifat Ibraheem, also pleaded with MDCAN to prefer roundtable dialogue with the government instead of resorting to strike actions.
This approach, he believes, will foster a more harmonious relationship between the association and the government.
The visit was attended by top officials of the OYSHMB, including the chairman, Dr. Akin Fagbemi; the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Anifat Ibraheem; and other directors.
