The Oyo State Hospitals’ Management Board has expressed it readiness to collaborate with ROCHE Products (Diagnostic Division) on how to strengthen blood safety and blood transfusion for all the secondary health facilities within the state.
This was stated by the Chairman OYSHMB, Dr. Akin Fagbemi during a courtesy visit by the ROCHE Products (Diagnostic Division) led by its regional manager Miss Adenike Dosunmu to the office of OYSHMB Chairman, Agodi, Secretariat, Ibadan.
In his address,The Chairman of Oyo State Hospital Management Board, Dr. Akin Fagbemi said the mandate of the board is to deliver qualitative and affordable health care services under sustainable health care system of his excellency Engr. Oluseyi Makinde FNSE tagged Omi-Tuntun 2.0.
Dr. Fagbemi reiterated the effort of the government of Oyo state in providing good and accessible health care system to the people of the state thereby calling for renovation and upgrading of some health facilities in the state in which Oyo State Hospitals’ Management Board, Blood Bank services at Total Garden is part of the renovation exercise.
He therefore praises the effort of his excellency Engr. Oluseyi Makinde in moving the health sector forward and on appointing and swearing in of 8 Permanent Secretaries within the health family for different zone in the state.
Earlier in her remark, The Regional Manager, ROCHE Products (Diagnostic Division), Miss Adenike Dosumu said the aim of the company is to have safe blood in the state and Nigeria as a whole.
She said further that part of the mandate of the company is to educate the public on how to be a blood donor for the use of those that are in need in case of accident or emergency patients.
Miss Dosumu also promised a strategic and sustainable system that can work, which will be of immense benefit for both the state government and the company involved.
The Permanent Secretary, Dr. Anifat Ibraheem appreciated the representative of ROCHE Products Limited for this collaborative effort in moving the health sector forward in the state and Nigeria in general.

Muyiwa Olagoke, the Director of Medical Services Dr. Olufemi Adesanya, the Director of Finance and Accounts Alhaji Akeem Tanimowo, the Director of Medical Laboratory Services Mrs. Olubunmi Yusuff.
