The Chairman of Oyo State Hospitals Management Board (OYSHMB), Dr. Akin Fagbemi, has called on Drug Procurement Managers (DPMs) and Heads of Pharmacy departments in state health facilities to adopt Electronic Prescriptions and Automation System. This call was made during a meeting with management, heads of pharmacy departments, and DPMs at the Ministry of Health Conference Room in Ibadan.
Dr. Fagbemi emphasized that embracing technology is crucial for effective and efficient service delivery in state health facilities. He reaffirmed the board’s commitment to providing sustainable healthcare services, aligning with the vision of Governor Oluseyi Makinde. The chairman highlighted the successful introduction of the Electronic Prescriptions System at General Hospital, Igbo Ora, which has improved quality service delivery in drug prescription.

Dr. Fagbemi expressed gratitude to Governor Makinde for his unwavering support to the health sector, including the recruitment of health workers, payment of minimum wages, and the provision of free medical care through the “Omi-Tumtum Free Health Mission” across the state’s 33 local governments.


The Permanent Secretary of the board, Dr. Anifat Ibraheem, commended the DPMs for their support and collaboration, encouraging them to maintain their high standards. Pharmacist Lukman Akinwande, Coordinator of the DPMs, praised the management for partnering with Lead City University on medical training and internship programs, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in advancing the health sector.
This development is a significant step towards enhancing healthcare delivery in Oyo State, and the OYSHMB remains committed to improving the health and well-being of its citizens.
