The Oyo State Hospitals’ Management Board (OYSHMB) has commenced the 2023/2024 promotion interview exercise for 840 health workers across various cadres within the board.
The exercise is being conducted at the Conference Room of the Ministry of Health, Secretariat, Ibadan.
Addressing the workers due for promotion, OYSHMB Chairman Dr. Akin Fagbemi expressed gratitude to Oyo State Governor Engr. Oluseyi Makinde for his worker-friendly policies since taking office in 2019.
Some of the governor’s notable achievements include: Timely Payment of Salaries: Salaries are paid on the 25th of every month, Fuel Subsidy Removal Support Wages are paid to workers affected by the federal government’s fuel subsidy removal, Prompt Gratuity Payment to Retirees receive their gratuity payments promptly, Workers receive 13th month arrears every December, New workers are recruited into various cadres, including OYSHMB
Dr. Fagbemi urged workers to strive for excellence, saying, “Oyo state is our own Jerusalem, we should all work hard to make it great.”
He commended Governor Makinde’s magnanimity towards civil servants and encouraged them to improve their productivity.
By promoting its health workers, OYSHMB aims to enhance the quality of healthcare services in Oyo State, aligning with Governor Makinde’s vision for a more prosperous and developed region.
