Dr. Adebowale Akande, DBA, CMGR, FCMI, Executive Adviser to Governor Seyi Makinde on Agribusiness and International Cooperation and Development, and Director-General of the Oyo State Agribusiness Development Agency (OYSADA), has declared Agribusiness as the key catalyst for Oyo State’s economic expansion and inclusive prosperity.

Speaking at the OYSADA headquarters in Ibadan, Dr. Akande described Agribusiness as a strategic engine for job creation, food security, wealth generation, and sustainable development. He emphasized that OYSADA’s 2026 agenda is firmly anchored on value-chain development, private sector participation, youth and women inclusion, and increased investment inflows into agriculture-related enterprises.
According to him, Governor Seyi Makinde has continued to provide full backing to OYSADA’s vision, demonstrating uncommon political will and institutional support to ensure the successful implementation of all budgeted Agribusiness programmes for 2026. Dr. Akande assured stakeholders that the Makinde administration remains committed to creating an enabling environment for farmers, Agripreneurs, investors, and development partners to thrive.

He reiterated that with the right policies, partnerships, and discipline in execution, Agribusiness will not only diversify Oyo State’s economy but position the state as a leading Agribusiness hub in Nigeria and beyond.
