……… As Youths Gear Up to Define the Future at Landmark Statewide Summit

All hands on deck as Oyo’s young leaders gear up to define the future at a transformative gathering

The atmosphere in Oyo State is charged with anticipation as young people across the state prepare to converge for what promises to be a groundbreaking event—the 2025 Oyo Youth Summit, scheduled for April 29th and 30th, 2025.

Organized by the Oyo State Ministry for Youth and Sports under the visionary leadership of Honourable Commissioner Wasilat Adegoke, the summit is themed “Unlocking Youth Potential; Addressing Needs, Fulfilling Dreams.” It reflects a bold direction: to position Oyo’s youth not only as recipients of government support but as active drivers of innovation, progress, and leadership.

Across the 33 local government areas, the buzz surrounding the summit is growing stronger. Young people from all walks of life—entrepreneurs, creatives, students, tech talents, artisans—are preparing with intentionality. They’re coming not just to attend, but to showcase their worth, share their dreams, and embrace new opportunities to lead.

In a show of unity and readiness, Hon. Michael Ogunsina, the Oyo State People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Youth Leader and Acting Publicity Secretary, has also thrown his weight behind the summit. According to him, “The youth of Oyo are not just prepared—they are positioned. This summit is a platform we must all take seriously, not only to amplify our voices but to renew our commitment to the future of our state.” His presence and involvement further highlight the growing synergy among youth stakeholders across political and social spheres.

A Government That Invests in the Future

The summit, a brainchild of the Ministry, aligns with the inclusive and progressive vision of *Governor Seyi Makinde*, whose administration has set the standard for youth engagement across Nigeria. From strategic youth appointments to entrepreneurial support and digital innovation hubs, the Makinde-led government has built a legacy of trust and empowerment for the younger generation.

Speaking ahead of the summit, Hon. Wasilat Adegoke noted, “This summit is more than an event—it’s a commitment to unlocking the greatness within our youth. Oyo is rising, and our young people are leading the charge.”

A Well-Coordinated Effort for Impact

With the Oyo State Agency for Youth Development, led by Prince Falana Adebowale Adebayo, working closely with other youth-centered bodies, preparations are in top gear to deliver a seamless and inspiring summit. From logistics to programming and outreach, all hands are on deck to ensure that this gathering is not only successful but becomes a defining moment in Oyo State’s youth development journey.

A Time to Lead, Not Just Learn

At the summit, participants will gain:
– Access to policymakers, mentors, and changemakers
– Platforms to pitch ideas, showcase talents, and scale initiatives
– Insightful sessions on leadership, branding, business, and nation-building

Oyo youths are not just arriving with questions—they are arriving with purpose, passion, and potential. And in a state renowned as the Pacesetter, the 2025 Oyo Youth Summit will once again prove why Oyo remains a torchbearer in youth-driven development in Nigeria.
