The Oyo State Agency for Youth Development recently held a significant event where Prince Falana Adebowale Adebayo, Chairman of the Agency, welcomed key stakeholders and delivered a comprehensive account of his stewardship since assuming office on May 20, 2024.

The event featured prominent dignitaries, including Hon. Yusuf Adebisi, Chairman of the House Committee on Youth and Sports, Hon Ogunsina Micheal, the Oyo State PDP Youth leader and acting publicity secretary, and Mrs. Titilayo Gbadamosi, Special Assistant to the President on Youth Initiatives, Monitoring, and Delivery.

In his welcoming speech, Prince Falana Adebowale Adebayo expressed his gratitude to the Chairman, the House Committee On Youth and Sports, Hon. Yusuf Adebisi, Hon. Ogunsina Micheal, the Oyo State PDP Youth leader and acting publicity secretary, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor Hon. Victor Olojede, and the Senior Special Assistant on Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Mrs. Agberemi Dabo RAD, for their unwavering support.

He particularly acknowledged the Executive Secretary, Mrs. Muraina, for her motherly advice and guidance, which has been instrumental in his early successes.

The Chairman House Committee on Youth and Sports, Hon. Yusuf Adebisi, in his remarks, appreciated the presence of Mrs. Titilayo Gbadamosi and lauded the chairman’s meritorious service and dedication to putting the state’s youth at the forefront.

Mrs. Titilayo Gbadamosi, SA to the President on Youth Initiatives, Monitoring, and Delivery, thanked the attendees and apologized for her late arrival, citing unavoidable developments.

She commended Governor Seyi Makinde for appointing young minds to key positions and praised Prince Falana Adebowale Adebayo for his leadership at the Oyo State Agency for Youth Development.

She outlined her role in ensuring prompt service delivery to the youth, emphasizing the strength of youth as a critical demographic. Gbadamosi articulated her A-C plan, focusing on the Nigerian Youth Academy and the importance of certification recognized by organizations. She expressed her support for Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration and highlighted the need for continuous collaboration between her office and the Oyo State Agency for Youth Development.

Gbadamosi discussed various federal government schemes that cover youth initiatives, including Policy and Advocacy, Empowerment, Capacity Building, and Interventions.

She urged the agency to devise plans that encourage constructive youth engagement with the government, avoiding disruptive activities like tire burning.

In closing, Gbadamosi emphasized the importance of the agency acting as the National Orientation Agency of the state and stressed the need for appointing a dedicated individual to monitor youth-led initiatives, with whom she would be willing to collaborate closely.

She reiterated her commitment to empowering the youth for impactful national development and pledged ongoing support for the initiatives spearheaded by the Oyo State Agency for Youth Development.

This event underscored the collaborative efforts between state and federal agencies in promoting youth development and highlighted the significant strides made under the leadership of Prince Falana Adebowale Adebayo.
