Oyo State Government has taken a significant step towards enhancing service delivery in the Ministry of Lands, Housing, and Urban Development by appointing 32 new officers across various cadres, including Surveyors, Estate Officers, Land Officers, and junior staff.
At a one-day orientation program held at the Ministry’s Conference Room, Permanent Secretary Mrs. Mofoluke Adebiyi, representing the Honourable Commissioner, expressed gratitude to the Executive Governor for the appointments, which she believes will bridge the existing manpower gap in the Ministry.
The Honourable Commissioner for Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Mr. Williams A. Funmilayo emphasized the importance of familiarizing the new officers with their work environment and introduced them to Civil Service ethics and their schedules. The new appointees were charged to be dedicated, humble, and committed to their work.
The orientation program featured insightful presentations from seasoned professionals, including retired Survey General Mr. Akintola, who spoke on the role of government surveyors in land administration, and ESV Alh. Kunle Ogunsola, a retired Head of Local Government, who discussed the basic conduct of a Land Officer.
On behalf of his colleagues, Mr. Jimoh Waliu, one of the newly recruited staff, expressed appreciation to the State Government for the opportunity to serve in the Civil Service and promised to contribute their quota to moving Oyo State forward.
