The Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, has urged immediate past Local Government Chairmen in the state to remain steadfast in upholding the ideals of the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Rt. Hon. Ogundoyin made this call when a delegation of former Local Government Chairmen paid him a courtesy visit today at his office in the Parliament Building, Secretariat, Ibadan.

The delegation was led by Hon. Gbadamosi Kazeem Adeyemi, the former Chairman of Lagelu Local Government.
Addressing the delegation, the Speaker emphasized the need for unwavering commitment to the PDP, regardless of political developments in some quarters.
“Irrespective of schemings that may be going on in some quarters, you must continue to champion the cause of the party at all levels,” Rt. Hon. Ogundoyin stated.
He further asserted that the PDP remains the strongest political force in Oyo State and expressed confidence in its dominance in future elections.
“The PDP remains the strongest party in Oyo State and will be the party to beat in 2027,” he added.
In his remarks, Hon. Gbadamosi Kazeem Adeyemi, who led the delegation, explained that their visit was to reaffirm their membership and loyalty to the PDP, as well as to celebrate the Speaker’s birthday.
The former Chairmen, who had earlier met with the leadership of the party at the PDP State Secretariat, commended the Speaker for his exemplary leadership and pledged their continued dedication to the party, despite rumors suggesting otherwise.
They also expressed their appreciation for Rt. Hon. Ogundoyin’s leadership qualities and reiterated their belief in the PDP’s strength in Oyo State.
The delegation included Hon. Adeoye Adedoyin (Ibarapa Central), Hon. Gbenga Obalowo (Ibarapa East), Hon. Olaide Settle (Oluyole), Hon. Sunday Akindele Ojo (Afijio), Hon. Sanusi Musibau Shaba (Ona-Ara), and Hon. Kabiru (Ogbomoso North).
