The Chairman, House Committee on Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA), Hon. Aderemi Abasi Oseni, has congratulated the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, on his emergence as Chairman of the Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs.

Oseni, who represents Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, described the development as historic, noting that Oba Ladoja is the first Olubadan to chair the state’s apex traditional council.
In a statement issued on Thursday by his media aide, Idowu Ayodele, the lawmaker said the commencement of a rotational chairmanship among the Olubadan of Ibadanland, the Alaafin of Oyo, and the Soun of Ogbomoso would further strengthen unity, fairness, and cooperation among traditional institutions in the state.

He said the selection of the Olubadan to pioneer the rotational arrangement was a recognition of the monarch’s experience, maturity, and long-standing contribution to leadership and public service.

“The emergence of His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, as Chairman of the Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs is a historic milestone for Ibadanland and Oyo State as a whole,” Oseni said.
According to him, the development underscored Kabiyesi’s wisdom, depth of experience, and commitment to peace, dialogue, and sustainable development.
Oba Ladoja was inaugurated as chairman on Thursday at the Western House of Chiefs, Ibadan, following the resolution of issues surrounding the leadership of the council.

At the meeting, the Olubadan thanked fellow traditional rulers for their unity and solidarity and pledged that the council would focus on promoting peace, security, safety, and development across the state.
The APC chieftain expressed confidence that the council, under the leadership of the Olubadan, would play a stabilising role in fostering harmony and supporting government efforts to enhance security and development.
He also congratulated the people of Ibadanland and Oyo State, saying the development reaffirmed the relevance of traditional institutions in governance and nation-building.
The lawmaker wished the Olubadan a successful and impactful tenure as chairman of the council.
