In continuation of its strategic local government engagements, the leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State met today with stakeholders from Ibarapa East Local Government to address party affairs and strengthen internal cohesion.
The meeting, held at the State Party Secretariat, Molete, Ibadan, was presided over by the State Secretary of the Party, Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke, who represented the State Chairman, Hon. Dayo Ogungbenro.

In his opening remarks, Alhaji Adeleke emphasized the need for party members across all levels to recommit to peace, unity, and the values of loyalty and discipline that define the PDP in Oyo State. He noted that the local government engagement series was designed to resolve internal challenges and reposition the party for continued growth and electoral success.


In attendance from the State Party Executive were the Financial Secretary, Hon. Oludayo Opatokun; State Youth Leader and Acting Publicity Secretary, Hon. Michael Ogunsina; State Legal Adviser, Hon. Waheed Gbadegesin; Assistant Organizing Secretary, Hon. Biodun Popoola; State Ex-Officio, Hon. Kunmi Adesina; and Hon. Adelabu Aderemi Alaba.

Also present were key stakeholders from Ibarapa East, including the Council Chairman, Hon. Kazeem Arogundade; the Local Government Party Chairman, Hon. Sikiru Adebisi; Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hon. Wasilat Adegoke; Hon. Olalowo Olakunle; Hon. Gbenga Obalowo; Former Commissioner Ojoawo; Hon. Dimeji Ladapo; Hon. Adeyemi Kamorudeen; and Hon. Temileyin Dupẹ́.
After hours of deliberations, the meeting reached key resolutions aimed at repositioning the party in Ibarapa East. Notably, it was agreed that all party meetings at the local government level must resume immediately and regularly to strengthen communication and unity.

Additionally, the meeting resolved to refer Hon. Kazeem Arogundade, the Local Government Council Chairman and Hon. Sikiru Adebisi, the Ibarapa East Party Chairman to the State Party Disciplinary Committee for actions deemed contrary to party expectations.
The meeting ended with a renewed commitment to unity, discipline, and support for Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration.
