The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade 1, has promised to collaborate with the security architecture in the state to address the issue of insecurity that has led to skyrocketing food prices.

The monarch made the pledge while hosting the Market Leaders Council, led by Asiwaju Yekeen Abass, at his Boroboro palace in Ancient Oyo town.
Oba Owoade assured the market leaders of improved security, thanking them for coming together to pay homage.

He noted that the efforts put in place by both the state and federal governments would yield positive results.

The courtesy call by the Market Leaders Council was aimed at soliciting the monarch’s support for crisis-free trading activities in the state.

Asiwaju Yekeen Abass, the Babaloja General of Oyo State, informed the Alaafin about the challenges faced by traders in bringing goods to various markets, especially from farms.
The visit also brought together market leaders and settled crises, according to Chief Yisau Hamzat, President of Artisans and Tradesmen in Oyo State.
Alhaja Saratu Konibaje and Princess Folasade Abeo, who spoke to newsmen, stated that the courtesy call had brought an end to the leadership crisis rocking the women’s forum.
The Alaafin’s pledge to support the security architecture is expected to boost confidence in the state’s trading activities and contribute to the overall economic well-being of the people.
