*Oyo Lawmaker, Olorunpoto, Pens Congratulatory Letter to Elevated Chiefs, Calls for Increased Representation for Oyo Town at State Traditional Council*

Member of the Oyo State House of Assembly representing the good people of Oyo East/West State constituency, Hon. Olorunpoto Rahaman Cephas, has penned a heartfelt congratulatory message to the recently elevated Baales in Oyo township by the State government through the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters.

It was announced yesterday that the Governor approved the elevation of Oyo Minor Chiefs to Part II recognized Chieftaincies.

The elevated Baales are: Elepe of Isheke, Onaisokun of Oyoland, Baale Idoode, Baale Gudugbu, Baale Ojongbodu, Baale Akeetan, Baale Apaara.

Other elevated Chieftaincies in Oyo include: Baale Aguo, Baale Ajagba, Olotefon of Otefon, Baale of Agooja, and the Baale Imeleke of Oyo.

Olorunpoto, who is the House Committee Chairman on Public Accounts, further assured that their elevation will bring even greater opportunities to make a positive impact in Oyo township and foster unity and progress among our people.

The statement reads:

Dear esteemed traditional chiefs,

“It is with great pleasure and pride that I extend my heartfelt congratulations to each of you on your recent elevation by the government as Part II Recognized Chieftaincy under the Chiefs Law, Cap. 28 Vol. I, Laws of Oyo State of Nigeria, 2000.

“Your dedication to upholding our cultural traditions and serving our communities has been duly recognized and honored by this prestigious elevation.

As your representative at the Oyo State House of Assembly, I am deeply gratified to witness your well-deserved recognition.

“Your leadership, wisdom, and commitment to the welfare of our people have always been exemplary, and I do not doubt that you will continue to uphold these values as you assume your new roles.

“It is worthy to note that Oyo Federal Constituency currently has one representative at the Oyo State Traditional Council, which is Alaawe of Aawe; he represents Afijio Local Government.

I hope that we work together towards ensuring that representatives are appointed for other Local Governments in Oyo Federal Constituency as soon as possible to maximize the gains of the council.

“May this elevation bring you even greater opportunities to make a positive impact on our society and foster unity and progress among our people. Your contributions are invaluable to the continued growth and development of our state.” He prayed.
