The lawmaker representing Ogbomoso North State Constituency, Hon. Bisi Oluranti Michael, has hailed the annual Igbo-Ora Twins Festival as a distinctive cultural phenomenon in the Twin Capital of the world.
In a congratulatory message marking the festival on October 7, 2025, Hon. Oluranti noted that the event celebrates the remarkably high twin birth rate in Igbo-Ora, Oyo State, Nigeria, through vibrant cultural displays, parades, and ceremonies.”
She said the festival highlights the rich tradition of celebrating twins in Igbo-Ora, where twins are considered a blessing and a symbol of prosperity.
According to Hon. Bisi Oluranti, the festival is a testament to the strength and pride of the Igbo-Ora community, renowned for its exceptionally high twin birth rate.
She praised Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration for promoting Oyo State’s cultural heritage, highlighting their commitment to preserving and celebrating the state’s rich traditions.
