The Iyaloja General of Oyo State, Princess Folashade Abeo Nurudeen has congratulated the newly inaugurated Chairmen of the 33 local government councils.

Abeo, who equally extended her heartfelt congratulations to the vice chairmen and all the 351 councillors, charged them to see their office as a clarion call for community development.

She made the call on Saturday in a statement made available to newsmen in Ibadan following the official inauguration of the 33 council chairmen and Vice chairmen by His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, who was represented by his Deputy, Barrister Abdul-Raheem Adebayo Lawal.

She said: “I particularly rejoice with the governor of Oyo State, His Excellency Engr Seyi Makinde, on the occasion of inauguration and the assurance of government development in the State.

“As I extend my congratulations to you all, I would want to implore you to see your office as a call to duty, and to use every opportunity to earn back the trust that has been placed in you.

“Excuses will not be tolerated in each particular local government, as the Governor had said. I have high hopes for your delivery.

“Stay composed, accountable, trustworthy, focused, and work for the good of the people.”
