Oyo Federal Lawmaker, Oshine Unveils Agenda, Prioritises Agriculture, Education, Youth Development, Women Empowerment, Others
Member of the House of Representatives, representing Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Iwajowa/Kajola Federal Constituency, Hon. Oyeshina Oyedeji known as Oshine has unveiled his agenda, while agriculture, education, youth development, women empowerment and avoidance of teenage pregnancy were prioritised.
Hon. Oshine unveiled his agenda on Tuesday, 9th January, during an exclusive interaction with news men at his country home; Okeho, Kajola Local Government, Area of Oyo State.
While unfolding his plans on education, Okeho-born lawmaker disclosed that he would be yearly sponsoring forty two(42) scholarships at SAF Polytechnic in Iseyin, while each beneficiary would come from each ward in the federal constituency after he/she might have met all prerequisites.
Adding that he would foot the payment of school fees throughout the 2-year academic programme for attainment of National Diploma or HIgher National Diploma certificate for the next three years.
He also mentioned that additional four (4) slots would be extended to Emmanuel Alayande University Oyo, The Polytechnic Ibadan, University Ibadan and Ladoke Akintola University of Technology(LAUTECH) Ogbomoso, where each student would be yearly benefitting from financial tokens to proceed in their academic sojourn.
He also offered to sponsor four constituents on post graduate scholarships abroad every year through various various fully funded scholarship opportunities abroad while assuring that he shall not hesitate to procure tickets for students who had met up with requirements of universities in overseas running on scholarship basis.
On Agriculture, Hon. Oshine promised to pay attention to agriculture, where water would be available for all farmers across the federal constituency, there would be access to markets via good road networks and there would be solar electricity as alternative to poor supply of electricity in order to develop farm settlements to estates.
He pledged that solar boreholes would be executed in each farm settlement across the federal constituency, not only but also added that a road in each local government leading to farm settlement would be grading yearly in order to enhance farmers’ access to markets.
Hon. Oshine said, there would be cooperative farmers’ society where there would be a synergy between him and the farmers across the federal constituency.
He maintained that an acquired tractor, would be using for farmers’ activities at the subsidised rates, hinting that amounts generating from tractor is easy to procure more via loans that would be secured from banks.
He reiterated his commitment to betterment of the farmers at the respective farm settlements, noting that if 80 percents of water projects are done for them, the remaining 20 percents would be made available to people living in towns.
On area of youth development, Hon. Oshine has promised sponsorship of free business name registration, while 100 names will be secured before May 2024, adding that innovation hub would be not be left undone as computers would be made available to enhance youths’ exposure to computer literacy and firm acclimatization with global technological advancement.
He promised to help them with online lessons and most especially students who are preparing for external examinations, with past question papers before December 2024, in order to prepare adequately for their examinations and come out in flying colours.
For women and artisans, Hon. Oshine said he had firm knowledge that their numerical strengths that spread across the four local governments making the federal constituency.
He pledged that the working tools would be provided for the artisans, help them with financial tokens to enhance completion of their associations’ buildings getting to roofing stage.
Maintaining that cooperative funding would be made available for the market women, as N2.5M had been earmarked for disbursement to aid their businesses, after all arrangements had been concluded.
His said his partnership with the United Nations Educational, Scientific Cultural Organization (UNESCO) would put an end to teenage pregnancy and safeguard teenagers from being abused by the teachers, and other concerned individuals.
