Oyo Deputy Governor, Bayo Lawal Greets Muslims At Ramadan
The Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Barrister Abdulraheem Adebayo Abdulraheem Lawal has congratulated Muslims in Oyo state and the country on the commencement of another Ramadan fast, calling it a fresh opportunity to get closer to Allah through fasting, charity, and seeking forgiveness.
In a statement made made available to newsmen on Monday, Lawal said the month of Ramadan is always an opportunity for Muslims to take advantage of Allah’s abundant mercies to forgive sins and answer prayers.
He noted that the Ramadan is a special month in which the Holy Qur’an was revealed and during which the Night of Majesty is witnessed.
Lawal urged residents of Oyo State and Nigerians not to lose hope in light of the present challenges.
He encouraged everyone to be prayerful in this Holy Month in the face of dispiriting socio-economic and security challenges facing us as a country. He stressed that better days are ahead, particularly for Oyo State where Allah has blessed us with a compassionate leader Governor Seyi Makinde.
He equally remarked that the present challenges that we face could be overcome if we aligned our everyday life with the teachings of the Holy Qur’an and Prophet Mohammed (SWT), in this month and beyond.
“I join the rest of the Muslim community in Oyo State to thank Allah for this month, wherein his mercies are obtained through prayers which are answered like never before and rewards for good deeds are given in abundance”.
“I congratulate all Muslim Ummahs in the state and beyond. While reflecting on the inimitable Words of Allah and devoting ourselves to Him in this holy month, I appeal to everyone to seize this opportunity to pray for our state, Nigeria, and the human race at large. Let us also use this opportunity to extend more support to the poor and our neighbors in exchange for Allah’s rewards.” Lawal stated.
