Oyo Council Poll: Major Boost For Oluokun/Waspha Candidature As Villagers Across 42 Polling Units Drum Support
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chairmanship candidate, Hon. Peter Oluokun, and his vice Abdulwasiu Ademola Mustapha Waspha campaign and steering committee, as well as all Councilorship candidates in the forthcoming Local government election in Oyo East on Tuesday, stormed the village to solicit their support.
The villagers across the 42 polling units in Oyo South East LCDA under the umbrella of the Isokan, in General, threw their weight behind the re-election bid of Hon. Olusola Peter Oluokun and Hon. Wasiu Waspha.
They declared their unflinching support for all the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party, noting that Governor Seyi Makinde who is the leader of the party in the state has laid a good foundation on good Governance.
The chairman of the Isokan group, Mr. Abdul-Rahman Olateju, while welcoming all the candidates, urged them to be promised keepers.
Present at the meeting include Baale Omo’ba – chief Yekeen Adeagbo, Baale Alabi Olorunda, Alaga Alabi-Olorunda, Balogun Àgbẹ from Idiya and others.
The chiefs while encouraging the candidates, however, promised that no stone will be left untouched and that they’ll deliver all the polling units across the villages in the forthcoming local government election.
In his remarks, Oyo East PDP Chairmanship candidate, Hon. Oluokun Peter acknowledged their support and expressed more joy as he promised them an all-inclusive government tasking them to vote massively for all candidates of the PDP in the election.
In his remarks, the Governor’s Liaison Officer (GLO) in the Oyo federal Constituency, Hon. Iliasu Alawode, charged all the candidates to be resilient and take heed to what the villagers discussed with them.
He equally urged the chairman and vice to fulfill all the requests of the village elders upon their emergence and also prayed that God would crown their efforts and guide them to discharge their duties.
