OYO COMMISSIONER FOR WOMEN AFFAIRS & SOCIAL INCLUSION FELICITATES THE GOOD PEOPLE OF OYO STATE ON EASTER CELEBRATION

The Honorable Commissioner for Women Affairs & Social Inclusion Hon( Mrs) Toyin Balogun joyously wishes our people the best Easter celebration ever

She urged all to emulate Christ’s sacrificial lifestyle and to use the occasion of this year’s Easter to show the world the major lessons inherent in the celebration of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

She stated that the Easter season came into being as a result of sacrifice, tolerance and love that Jesus Christ expressed towards the world.

“Easter is the central core & essence of Christianity and we must start demonstrating the attributes that made Jesus different.

“The road to the cross, the judgment, the burial and ascension were demonstrations of the greatest sacrifice.

“We as citizens of Oyo State in particular and Nigeria in general must be ready to sacrifice for the progress of the country

“We must emulate Christ. He left a life of Glory to come to earth to sacrifice for our redemption. So, as leaders & followers, we must also make requisite sacrifices to collectively make Oyo State and by extension,Nigeria the Utopia we desire to have.”She stated

She also extended her salutation to the leadership of the Christian faith for having successfully led their followers through the Lenten fast,prayers and almsgiving exercises which together with the sacrificial fast ongoing with our sister faith; Islam has brought some measure of equilibrium to the upheavals and difficulties faced by our people.

She thanked the adherents of the faiths practiced in the state for the spirit of forbearance,camaraderie, true brotherliness and the sincere prayers with which they have supported the Governor Seyi Makinde led government

It is her belief that it’s these heartfelt prayers which have helped her Principal to navigate the challenging times with such outstanding panache and results to our collective pride

She enjoined all to continue to extend hands of brotherliness and our shared humanity across all divides,continue to contribute our own quota to governance,nation building and continue to support our leader and his team in prayers so that he can lead us to an expected end,even earlier than projected.

This is a season of challenges before victory and prosperity but just as Christ overcame death by His resurrection,Oyo State under Governor Seyi Makinde’s watch will overcome our economic challenges with attendant abundance and prosperity

“At this moment more than anything else,I covet your prayers and unstinting support for our leader GSM as he navigates to take us out of this challenging season

Christ arose from the tomb,so shall Oyo State arise to take its pride of place in the comity of most economically viable states
