The Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hon. Wasilat Adegoke, presided over a crucial stakeholders meeting of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) at her office in Ibadan.The meeting aimed to strengthen youth service and enhance the overall development of corps members in the state.

In attendance were representatives from the NYSC State Secretariat, zonal inspectors, local government coordinators, and other key stakeholders. The commissioner, in her opening remarks, emphasized the importance of collaboration and effective communication in achieving the NYSC’s objectives.
The meeting discussed various issues, including, enhancing the welfare and security of corps members, improving the quality of orientation courses and skills acquisition programs, strengthening partnerships with local governments and stakeholders,promoting community development projects and social impact initiatives

Hon. Wasilat Adegoke reiterated the state government’s commitment under the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde to supporting the NYSC and empowering young people in Oyo State. She encouraged stakeholders to work together to create a conducive environment for corps members to thrive and make meaningful contributions to the state.
While appreciating the governor, the Coordinator highlighted various projects and timely interventions of the state government under the leadership of His Excellency, Engr Seyi Makinde, and how these interventions have yielded remarkable improvements in the scheme.

Other issues affecting camping, posting and welfare of corps members were also discussed extensively.
The meeting concluded with a renewed sense of purpose and a commitment to collective action. The stakeholders agreed to continue working together to strengthen youth service and promote the overall development of corps members in Oyo State.
