The the Okanlomo Oódua, Chief (Engr) Jubril Dotun Sanusi, has congratulated the Government and people of Oyo State as the state begins activities to mark its 50th anniversary.

In a statement issued and signed by Williams Abiola Martins,
Personal Media Aide to Okanlomo Oodua to commemorate the milestone, Sanusi described the golden jubilee as a significant point in the historic journey of Oyo State since its creation.

He noted that the state has, from inception, maintained its position as a beacon of leadership, culture, education, and progressive governance in Nigeria.


According to him, the legacy of Oyo State as the Pacesetter State is anchored on the resilience, intellect, and enterprise of its people, as well as the enduring strength of its institutions and traditional heritage.
Sanusi also congratulated the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde, members of the State Executive Council, the Legislature and Judiciary, heads of Ministries, Departments and Agencies, and Local Government Chairmen across the state for their respective roles in sustaining governance and development over the decades.

He further extended special commendation to His Imperial Majesty, Kabiyesi Senator Rasheed Adewolu Ladoja, Arusa 1, the Olubadan of Ibadan Land, and other Royal Fathers, including Obas and Baales, as well as traditional institutions in the state.

He acknowledged their wisdom, cultural custodianship, and stabilising influence in preserving the identity and unity of Oyo State, describing their roles as indispensable in bridging history with modern governance.
As Oyo State embarks on a week-long celebration to reflect on its past, assess its present, and envision its future, Sanusi called on all stakeholders, government, traditional authorities, civil servants, youths, professionals, and the diaspora, to recommit themselves to unity, peace, and collective responsibility for the continued progress of the state.
He stated that at 50 years, Oyo State represents not only longevity but also what is achievable when heritage, vision, and people are aligned. He added that the next phase of the state’s journey requires renewed dedication to good governance, cultural preservation, economic growth, and social harmony.
Sanusi, however, prayed for greater heights, enduring peace, and sustained development for Oyo State and its people, and congratulated the state on its Golden Jubilee.
