A group within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Emerging Leaders, has called on President Bola Tinubu to find lasting solution to the problem confronting the party in the state.

The group made the call during its regular meeting in Ibadan on Saturday.
In a communique signed by Saheed Lekan-Olayiwola, Mogaji Abiola Oyeyemi, Folarin Olawale Martins Ahaji Idris Ismail, Yusuf Abiola Saburi and Samsudeen Popoola on behalf of members, urged the President to look beyond the reigning state actors of the party in finding lasting solution to the problem.

The body, its reaction to the outcome of Ibadan North Federal Constituency bye-election, passed vote of no confidence on the party at the national level, saying that its conduct contributed to the party failure in the bye election.


While congratulating Nentawe Yilwatda on his emergence as the new National Chairman of the party, urged the party leadership at the national level to address the root cause of the failure the party in the bye-election by ensuring free, fair and credible congresses that would be appealing to appreciable party members in the future elections.
The call by the Oyo APC Emerging Leaders, is to avoid the repeat of the 2023 sharm congresses that resulted in to massive loss of resources, time and energy of party faithful.
In preparation for the party congress ahead of the 2027 general elections, the Assembly demanded that 70 percent of the party elective offices from ward to national levels be conceded to younger elements in the party to ensuring more effective and all-inclusive administration.

Addressing rewarding system at the central level, Oyo APC Emerging Leaders charged gladiators to look inward to correct the anomalies as to appease the deserved members that were assiduously working for cohesion of the party at the grassroots.
