The Ogbomoso North chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) received a major boost on Thursday when Engineer Muftau Open Salawu, a prominent chieftain of the party and the chairman of the Oyo State Project Monitoring and Performance Agency, donated ₦5 million to strengthen the local structure and promote inclusivity among members.

The announcement, which was made during a meeting with party faithful, detailed the breakdown of the donation as follows: ₦2 million for the women’s wing, ₦1 million for elders, ₦1.5 million for youths, and ₦500,000 for persons with disabilities.
Open Salawu’s message was conveyed through a representative and read out by the party chairman.

The announcement drew loud applause and chants of solidarity from party members, who hailed the gesture as timely and inspiring.


In his message, Engineer Open Salawu reaffirmed his commitment to the progress and stability of the PDP, describing it as “the leading and most stable political family in Oyo State and Ogbomoso North.”
He expressed confidence that the party’s dominance in the area would endure for many years, provided members remained united and focused on shared goals.
He also highlighted the importance of dedication, discipline, and teamwork within the party, noting that the recent PDP congress in Ogbomoso North was deliberately structured to promote inclusivity and give every stakeholder a sense of belonging.

According to him, unity and fairness among leaders would consolidate internal harmony and strengthen the party ahead of future elections.
Open Salawu, who is widely respected for his grassroots appeal and philanthropic spirit, reiterated his respect for all members of the PDP and pledged to treat everyone with fairness and consideration.
He urged party leaders at all levels to work in harmony, set aside personal ambitions, and prioritise the collective interest of the party.
