One-Year Thrilling Novelty Match: Oyo Assembly Edges Agency for Youth 1-0, as Oyo PDP Thrashes ALGON 3-0

As part of activities in commemoration of the First anniversary of Oyo State Agency for Youth Development Chairman, Adamasingba was electrifying for display of sportsmanship as the Oyo State Assembly and the Oyo State PDP team made their mark at a novelty match held to commemorate a significant milestone on Thursday.

The event featured thrilling encounters, showcasing the talents of various teams. However, the match between the Oyo State House of Assembly led by Hon. Adebayo Babajide Gabriel and the Agency for Youth Development led by Hon. Adebowale Adebayo Falana was closely contested, with the Assembly emerging victorious with a narrow 1-0 margin via penalty spot.

According to the sports analyst, this result highlighted the competitive spirit and determination of both teams, where spectators display spirits of unity while chanting both teams.

However, in another match encounter, the Oyo State People’s Democratic Party (PDP) led by the Youth leader and acting Publicity Secretary, Hon. Micheal Ogunsina team demonstrated exceptional skill and teamwork, securing a convincing 3-0 win over the Association of Local Government Chairmen of Nigeria (ALGON), Oyo State chapter team led by Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade.

This dominant performance showcased the PDP team’s prowess and cohesion on the field.

The novelty match served as a celebration of unity, sportsmanship, and healthy competition among the participating teams.

In reality, the novelty encounter provided a platform for teams to showcase their talents, build relationships, engage in friendly rivalry, and lots more.

The success of this event underscores the importance of sports in fostering youth development, discovering talents and community spirit, and promoting physical well-being. The Oyo State Assembly, Agency for Youth, Oyo PDP, and ALGON teams displayed impressive sportsmanship, making the event a memorable one.

Equally, the celebration continues today with a special Jummat prayer scheduled to take place at the Central Mosque inside the State Secretariat, Ibadan, Oyo State capital.

While the ground finale will be held on Sunday, 25th May 2025, with Church Thanksgiving Services.
