She stressed that everyone has a role to play in fighting this issue and ensuring the safety and dignity of women and girls.
The event drew notable attendees, including Mrs. Windapo, the Wife of the Vice Chairman and Political Head of INUKAN LCDA; Mrs. Abolade Yerima, Wife of the House Leader; Alhaja Akande, Director of Education and Social Service; representatives of the People’s Democratic Party Women’s Wing; community youth leaders; and market leaders.
During her address, the First Lady highlighted the importance of education and enlightenment in reducing gender-based violence. She urged stakeholders to continue advocating for a safer society and pledged the local government’s commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at protecting women and girls.
The sensitization program is part of ongoing efforts to foster a society where gender-based violence is not tolerated, and the rights of every individual, regardless of gender, are upheld.
