The Executive Chairman of Ona Ara Local Government, Dr. Temitope Kolapo Glorious, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Engineer Sunday Makinde, the beloved elder brother of His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde.
In a press statement signed by the Chairman’s Press Secretary, Mr. Rahmon Alawode, Dr. Glorious described the loss as a profound tragedy that has touched the entire Oyo State. He commiserated with the Governor, the Makinde family, and all those mourning the demise of the distinguished elder statesman.
“On behalf of the government and people of Ona Ara Local Government, I extend my heartfelt condolences to my boss and mentor, His Excellency Governor Seyi Makinde, and the entire Makinde family on this irreparable loss. Engineer Sunday Makinde was a man of wisdom and integrity whose contributions to society will remain indelible. His departure is a painful reminder of the transient nature of life.”
Dr. Glorious offered prayers for the Governor and his family, asking God to grant them the strength to navigate this difficult time. He also prayed for the peaceful repose of Engineer Sunday Makinde’s soul.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with Governor Seyi Makinde and his family. May God’s comforting presence surround them and grant them peace during this period of mourning,” the statement read.
The Executive Chairman urged the people of Oyo State to rally around the Makinde family with love and support as they go through this time of grief.
