Ona Ara LG Boss, Dr. Temitope GLORIOUS, Visits Omituntun Sawia Market Site, Condemns Developer for Delays

Ona Ara Local Government Chairman, Dr. Temitope Kolapo GLORIOUS, conducted a site visit to the Omituntun Sawia Market project and expressed strong disapproval of the developer responsible for the prolonged reconstruction process.

This announcement was made in a press statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary of the chairman, Mr. Rahmon Alawode and made available to newsmen.

The visit was prompted by numerous complaints from displaced traders who appealed to Dr. Glorious for assistance.

The traders, who requested anonymity, expressed their frustration over the delays and the impact on their livelihoods.

It was recalled that the previous administration of the Local Government demolished the major marketplace towards the end of last year, 2023, and handed the project over to a developer for reconstruction. However, progress has been significantly slower than anticipated.

Dr. Glorious addressed the displaced traders, acknowledging their grievances and assuring them of his commitment to resolving the issue.

He informed them that the site file has been requested and that the Local Government will begin reviewing it immediately. “You will definitely be updated about the process,” he promised.

The chairman emphasized the importance of timely completion of the market to restore economic stability for the traders and the community.

He assured all stakeholders that necessary steps will be taken to expedite the reconstruction and ensure that the developer meets the agreed-upon deadlines.
