Oloye Adegoke Lauds Oba Ladoja on Inauguration of Ibadan Community Guard & Unveiling of ‘Garri Ibadan’

The Aare Egbe Omo Balogun of Ibadanland, Oloye Adegboyega Toafeek Adegoke FCA, has commended the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja ARUSA 1, for what he described as “visionary and people-centered leadership” following the inauguration of the Ibadan Community Guard and the unveiling of the ‘Garri Ibadan’ initiative.

Adegoke, who is the Chairman of Solutions 93.9 FM Ibadan and ADC governorship aspirant, gave the commendation in a statement.

The monarch had earlier inaugurated the Ibadan Community Guard, a grassroots security outfit designed to strengthen surveillance and complement existing security agencies across the 11 local government areas of Ibadanland.

Describing the move as timely, Adegoke noted that the initiative would significantly enhance community policing, improve intelligence gathering, and restore public confidence in grassroots security architecture.

“The establishment of the Ibadan Community Guard is a bold and strategic step toward safeguarding lives and property. It reflects Kabiyesi’s deep understanding of the security realities facing our people,” he said.

In the same vein, Adegoke applauded the unveiling of the ‘Garri Ibadan’ initiative, a food security and economic empowerment programme aimed at addressing rising food scarcity while boosting local production and job creation.

The initiative is designed to make staple food, particularly garri, more affordable and accessible, while stimulating economic activities across the cassava value chain from production to distribution.

According to Adegoke, the project is a practical response to the economic hardship facing many Nigerians and a clear demonstration of proactive traditional leadership.

“At a time when many households are grappling with food inflation, ‘Garri Ibadan’ stands out as a sustainable intervention that will not only feed the people but also empower them economically,” he added.

He further emphasized that the dual initiatives; security and food sustainability highlight a holistic development approach capable of repositioning Ibadan as a model for other cities in Nigeria.

Adegoke also urged stakeholders, community leaders, and residents of Ibadanland to support the Olubadan’s vision, stressing that collective responsibility is essential for the success of such initiatives.
