In a remarkable demonstration of his commitment to educational excellence, the Aare Egbe Omo Balogun of Ibadanland, Oloye Adegboyega Taofeek Adegoke, Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA) has instituted two prestigious academic awards at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso.

The newly established awards, featured in the handbook of LAUTECH’s 17th Convocation Ceremony and 35th Founder’s Day Anniversary, will be presented annually over the next ten years.

They are designed to promote academic distinction among students.

The award categories are as follows:
– Best Graduating Student in the Faculty of Agriculture
– Best Graduating Student in the Department of Physics

According to Oloye Adegoke, the initiative forms part of his broader vision to foster academic excellence, support youth development, and give back to society through strategic educational interventions.

“These awards are not just prizes; they are symbols of encouragement and recognition for students who have distinguished themselves through hard work and dedication,” he said during the official unveiling of the awards.

The management of LAUTECH has expressed profound gratitude to Oloye Adegoke for his generous gesture, noting that such recognition serves as a powerful motivator for students across the university.

Oloye Adegoke is widely known for his philanthropic contributions across various sectors, particularly in education, youth empowerment, and community development.

Recently, he declared his intention to contest the 2027 Oyo State gubernatorial election under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
