*OBA BALOGUN’S DEMISE; DR DARE AKANDE (OON) COMMISERATES GOV MAKINDE, OLUBADAN IN COUNCIL, SEN KOLA BALOGUN & IBADANLAND*

I am deeply saddened to learn about the passing of His Imperial Majesty, Oba Dr. Mohood Olalekan Ishola Balogun, CFR, Alli Okunmade II which occured late Thursday 14th March 2024. Oba Balogun’s contributions to Ibadanland as His Imperial Majesty for two years, as Senator of the Federal Republic and exceptional business leader are immeasurable. The reign of Oba Balogun was peaceful and brought outstanding progresses to the land and the people.

On behalf of my family and my business interests, I extend our heartfelt condolences to Governor Seyi Makinde, the Olubadan in Council, Senator Kola Balogun, the immediate family members, Aliwo family Compound, and the entire Ibadan land on this great loss. Though we would have loved him to still be with us but we must submit to the will of God concerning him.

May the beautiful memories of Oba Dr. Mohood Olalekan Ishola Balogun serve as a source of comfort during this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all as you mourn the loss of a great leader, a beloved traditional figure in Yoruba land and ruler of the largest Yoruba City in the world. I pray God grants us all the fortitude to bear this great loss.
