The Nigerian Youth Congress (NYC), Oyo State Chapter, has honoured the Member representing Ibarapa North/Central Federal Constituency, Hon. (Dr.) Anthony Adebayo Adepoju popularly known as IBARAPA KAN with the “Most Performing Member of the House of Representatives in Oyo South Senatorial District Award for the year 2025.”
In the same vein, the Congress also presented an Icon Award of Excellence to the Executive Chairman of Ibarapa Central Local Government, Hon. Adeleke Olusola, in recognition of his outstanding leadership, administrative competence, and grassroots development initiatives within the local government area.
The prestigious awards were presented on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, by the Chairman of the Nigerian Youth Congress, Oyo State Chapter, Comrade Abdulfatai Adeyemi (LEGACY), during the flag-off ceremony for the distribution of exercise books and school bags to students across Ibarapa North and Central Federal Constituency sponsored by Hon.(Dr) Anthony Adebayo Adepoju.
The educational support programme was aimed at promoting learning, encouraging school enrolment, and easing the financial burden on parents amid prevailing economic challenges.
Speaking at the event, Comrade Abdulfatai Adeyemi described Hon. (Dr.) Adepoju as a legislator whose performance has remained people-centred and youth-focused. He explained that the award was based on verifiable constituency projects, sustained educational interventions, accessibility to constituents, and impactful legislative contributions on the floor of the House of Representatives.
“Hon. (Dr.) Anthony Adebayo Adepoju has demonstrated that effective representation goes beyond occupying a legislative seat. His consistent commitment to education, youth empowerment, and grassroots development clearly distinguishes him as a lawmaker deserving of this recognition,” the NYC Chairman stated.
On the Icon Award of Excellence conferred on Hon. Adeleke Olusola, Comrade Adeyemi noted that the Executive Chairman’s inclusive governance style, responsiveness to community needs, and developmental strides in Ibarapa Central Local Government informed the Congress’ decision to honour him.
In his response, Hon. (Dr.) Adepoju expressed deep appreciation to the Nigerian Youth Congress for the honour, describing it as a strong motivation to intensify his efforts in delivering quality representation. He reaffirmed his commitment to youth inclusion, educational advancement, and sustainable human capital development across his constituency.
Similarly, Hon. Adeleke Olusola thanked the Congress for the recognition, pledging to remain steadfast in his commitment to people-oriented governance and continuous service delivery at the grassroots level.
