NULGE : Ibadan North East LG Chairman, Akintayo Bags Exceptional Leadership Award* *…commends Staff and Political Functionaries

In a significant recognition of his outstanding service and dedication to grassroots development, the Executive Chairman of Ibadan North East Local Government, Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo, has been honored with the Exceptional Leadership Award by the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE).

The award was presented during the 2025 edition of the NULGE Activities and Lecture organized by the Ibadan North East and Ibadan East LCDA, held on Monday, June 2.

In a statement issued by the Council’s Information Officer, Ikeoye Oyetoro, the Chairman expressed gratitude to the Almighty God for His continuous blessings and guidance.

He also extended appreciation to His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, for his visionary leadership and unwavering support, which he said has positively influenced local governance and development in the area.

“As the Executive Chairman, I am proud to lead a team of committed individuals united in the vision for progress,” Hon. Akintayo said, acknowledging the efforts of his Vice Chairman, the Leader and members of the Legislative Council, Supervisors, and Special Assistants, whose dedication he described as pivotal to the local government’s achievements.

Hon. Akintayo also commended the management team, NULGE Executives, and all staff members of both Ibadan North East Local Government and Ibadan East LCDA for their dedication to service delivery and professionalism. He urged them to continue striving for excellence and maintaining integrity in their duties.

Welcoming newly employed staff, he advised them to be diligent, humble, and eager to learn, urging them to become worthy ambassadors of the local government system.

In a show of solidarity, Vice Chairman Hon. Mrs. Mary Esomior expressed her heartfelt appreciation to the Chairman for his steadfast leadership and also extended gratitude to other political functionaries and staff members for their continued commitment.

The Head of Local Government Administration (HLGA), Mrs. Omolara Aremu, lauded Hon. Akintayo’s visionary leadership, describing it as a driving force in the transformation of the community.

Similarly, Comrade Kunle Adeyemo, the NULGE Chairman, who presented the award, praised Hon. Akintayo as “a man of honor and a visionary leader.”

The event was attended by key stakeholders including members of the Legislative Council, Secretary and Assistant Secretary to the Local Government, Supervisors, Special Assistants, management staff, NULGE Executives, and other staff of both Ibadan North East LG and Ibadan East LCDA.
