In line with their long-standing tradition during the festive season, Deji Ola and his associates, under the banner of Friends of Deji Ola, have once again extended support to vulnerable members of society through their annual Clothe the Needy initiative.

The humanitarian project, which commenced in 2017, has reportedly impacted countless lives across different communities in Oyo State. This year’s outreach covered major and lesser parts of Ibadan, adopting a strategic approach aimed at putting smiles on the faces of the less privileged during the Yuletide season.
Speaking at the event, the Convener, Prince Adeyemo Adedeji Ola who is also the Special Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde on Political Matters expressed deep appreciation to friends, volunteers, and donors who consistently support the initiative. He noted that the project has now clocked seven years, describing its steady expansion as a source of joy and fulfillment.

According to him, no form of kindness surpasses a random act of kindness. “Those who received clothing ahead of the Christmas celebration can now feel included and confident to celebrate alongside others in society. What remains is food, and our Food Bank Initiative is designed to cater for that as well,” he added.

Ola further appealed to well-meaning individuals to leverage the platform to reach out to those in need, stressing that even small gifts can significantly uplift the spirits of beneficiaries who may be experiencing one form of hardship or another.
He also disclosed plans by the organization to appreciate its members and supporters through a special event tagged Retro Vibes Hangout, an old-school themed gathering designed to evoke nostalgia with engaging side attractions.
One of the beneficiaries, who preferred to remain anonymous, expressed gratitude to the organization for the unexpected gesture. She narrated that she was merely passing by when she noticed people queuing and decided to join without knowing the purpose, only to receive quality fabrics for herself and her daughter. She prayed for continued growth and elevation for the organization and its members.
