The 2024/2025 academic calendar has been successful with various remarkable challenges and prospects, in terms of academic and moral standard, the development of which has called for every proprietor of schools in the country to re-strategies on the academic progress and moral development of their pupils/ students, especially at the primary and secondary school levels.

Since the current commandant Nigeria Navy School, Iresa Apa, in Ogbomosho under Navy Commandant Evelyn Egwurube assumed office, her commitment to education in terms of human capacity development, the school have witnessed some remarkable improvements, especially in academic performance in the external certificate examinations and also in the extra curriculum activities in the Ogbomosho area.
This was evidenced in the brilliant performance of the School, at the recent concluded State Future Accountants, Managers & Entrepreneurs ‘FAME’ competition organized by Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria ICAN, held recently at Smith International Baptist Academy Ogbomoso School Hall, Ogbomosho.

The 2025 Edition of annual quiz competition that is usually organized for selected schools in different zones in Nigeria had 13 schools in attendance which comprises of George Green Secondary School, Smith International, Maryland Grammar School, Federal Government College Ogbomosho, Nigerian Navy Secondary School, Ogbomoso among others.

The exam and quiz competition subjects include Financial Accounting, Economics & Mathematics. Out of these 13 Schools, Adetona Aminat an SS2 Student who represented Nigerian Navy Secondary School, Ogbomoso came first while George Green Secondary School came and Zion Christian Academy came 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.

It is worthy of note that the professional body, ICAN decorated the student of Nigerian Navy Secondary School, Adetona Aminat with medals while the school was presented with certificates of honour for outstanding performance in the annual quiz competition.
Sharing her experience in the competition, Adetona Aminat attributed the successes to the quality education being offered by the teachers, culminated by the conducive learning environment made available by the school management.
Navy Commander Evelyn Egwurube commended the organisers of the competition for given the students the opportunity to prove their academic prowess, calling on other professional body to also emulate this same programme, saying it improves the academic activities of the students and widen their horizon and to know the areas that needed to be improve on.
Commander Egwurube said, ICAN is known as a noble and professional body that has integrity internationally for grooming financial experts in every other profession.
She further explained that teachers in Nigerian Navy School, Ogbomosho are loco parentis and academically sound in their subject fields, with teaching experience that makes learning stress free for the students in the school.
The Commandant appreciates the students for the academic excellence, while appealing to government to grant the college requests in the area of infrastructural developments.
The quiz competition winner, Adetona Aminat will represent Ogbomoso/District at the National level of the quiz competition.
