As we stand on the cusp of a new year,im reminded of the inspiration for this journey : to inspire change(paradigm shift) and to effectively and sustainably empower the vulnerable in our midst especially our women

The past year brought with it an array of highs and lows,windows of opportunities for few,daunting challenges, a largely unfavorable economic climate and a couple of dark episodes but we are hopeful that the dark days are behind us, that this new year is filled with endless possibilities and opportunities

This year by God’s grace,we will overcome the challenges of the outgone year with a combination of resilience and determination, challenging old limits and building new possibilities .

In the process, we will be empowering our women, investing in our youth both male & female, creating an enabling environment for our women, children, elderly and physically challenged to thrive and pushing the boundaries of community development

Lets all embrace the core values of unity,progress and accountability in all we do in line with the precepts shown by our Leader; His Excellency Governor Seyi Makinde

As we usher in this New Year, I extend my warmest greetings and hearty well wishes to all citizens of our state, especially members of our vulnerable communities ( women, children, elderly, the physically challenged and the indigent)

In this year 2025,lets embrace the spirit of peace,, unity and collaboration.

Our strength as a community lies in our diversity, shared aspirations and relentless commitment to progress

Together we can overcome challenges, foster understanding and create an environment where every individual thrives

We are urged to remain dedicated to promoting inclusivity, driving sustainable development and enhancing the well being of our families, neighbours and our collective communities

This is a clarion call on all to join hands in gloves with the govt on this collective mission.Let us be compassionate neighbors, active citizens and custodians of the peace,and exhibit commitment to the rule of law that defines the leadership style of His Excellency

We are very fortunate indeed to have a Leader who is ready to put political will behind the push of our Ministry to effectively and sustainably empower the Vulnerable in our midst especially our women

My final charge to all especially our women is to brace up and intentionally determine to key into the various interventions and programs to be rolled out in the nascent year 2025 by the State Government through the Ministry of Women Affairs & Social Inclusion so that working hands in glove with us, we can collectively deliver on the mandate the ministry has set for itself as indicated below;

*To lift a minimum of 4m( four million) family units from Poverty to Self Sustenance and then on to Prosperity in line with His Excellency’s Omituntun 2:0 Agenda before the end of the timeline of the Governor Seyi Makinde led government*

Lastly, I pray that this new year brings peace, joy and abundant blessings to every family unit and home in our dear state

Yours in Service

Hon( Mrs) Toyin BALOGUN
COMMISSIONER FOR WOMEN AFFAIRS & SOCIAL INCLUSION
