The Executive Chairman of Akinyele Local Government, Hon Akinwole Akinleye has congratulated the good people of Akinyele LG on witnessing the New Year, praying to God to make 2025 a prosperous year for all and sundry.
Hon Akinleye who appreciated the good people of Akinyele LG for their immense support and cooperation with his government in the last seven months, urged them not to relent in their supports and prayers for Akinyele Local Government, Oyo State and Nigeria at large.
This wishes was contained in a statement signed by the Chief Media Aide, Ogundipe Miracle, Hon Akinwole while felicitating with his residents equally admonished them to continue to live in harmony and love for the betterment of Akinyele LG.
The statement reads:
My dear people of Akinyele LG,
As 2024 closes, I am reminded of the words of the very popular 1897 hymn by Johnson Oatman Jr, “Count your Blessings.” This song encourages us to take stock of the good things that happened in our lives.
When we do this, we often find that we have overlooked many positives. Many would describe 2024 as a tough year.
At the beginning of the year, the fuel subsidy removal which led to a huge rise in the cost of goods and petroleum prices has affected many businesses and livelihoods, political struggles and schemings.
However, our 2024 is not defined by these events. As the first stanza of that song says, “When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost, count your many blessings, name them one by one, and it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.” So, let me recount some of the blessings that 2024 brought us as a people.
Hon Akinwole Akinleye also noted that 2024 was ‘A quite eventful year in the life of our dear Local Government’, as it was characterised by developments and moments that could be termed as high and low.
He maintained that though there were challenges, the support of the people and their prayers ensured that Akinyele LG triumphed, with several landmark infrastructure development projects and programmes delivered in line with the focus of his administration to take Akinyele LG to the peak where it belongs.
“I congratulate all citizens and residents of Akinyele LG on witnessing the New Year.”
“It is my prayer that 2025 will be an exciting, prosperous and rewarding year for our dear Local Government and all its people.
As a government, we can make one promise; that 2025 will be eventful and it will mark a decisive moment in our agenda to move the Local Government to the peak where it belongs”.
“As you would have known, our administration delivered several landmark infrastructure projects in 2024, While many projects and policies introduced by our government to develop our Local Government are at various stages of completion.
We also flagged off several others, with 2025 set as the deadline for the completion and commissioning for use of all these efforts,” he asserted.
Hon Akinleye disclosed that there were several initiatives ongoing in the Local Government across his administration’s agenda and when done, would bring great developments that would take the Local Government to the desired destination.
“But can we succeed without your support? No. In all the successes we recorded in the last Seven months, one factor remained constant and that is the support and prayers of the Good people of Akinyele LG.
I encourage you to continue to support your government and we will, in turn, continue to deliver on commitment as promised during the campaign period.”
We will continue working with our administration’s blueprint, And I am happy to report that we have continued to reduce our infrastructural deficit, slowly but surely. All of these will be contributing to the economic development of our Local Government.
More people are being attracted to our dear Local Government which is the fastest growing LG because of our good governance initiatives and business-friendly environment.
“We will never take for granted your continued support for our administration, nor will we take lightly our promise to serve.
We remain committed to our promise to put you, the good people of Akinyele LG first in every decision we make, And at the end of the year, may we have even more reasons to look back and be surprised at the “many things that the Lord has done.May your year 2025 be better than your year 2024”.
