The National Examinations Council (NECO) has formally commended Hon. Akinsete Olakunle, Special Adviser to Seyi Makinde on Housing and Urban Development, for sponsoring 250 less privileged candidates in the just concluded 2025 Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) External (November/December).
In an appreciation letter dated March 2, 2026, and signed by Mr. Ademola B. Adesola, Oyo State Coordinator, on behalf of the Registrar/Chief Executive Officer, the examination body expressed deep gratitude for the generous sponsorship of candidates from Ibadan South-West Local Government Area.
According to NECO, the intervention significantly enhanced access to examination opportunities for students who might otherwise have been unable to register due to financial challenges.
The Council described the gesture as a meaningful contribution to youth empowerment, academic advancement, and community development.
While receiving the letter, Hon. Akinsete Olakunle, who proudly hails from Ibadan South-West Local Government, reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to giving back to society.
“I sincerely love to give back to the people,” he remarked. “It has always been my passion to uplift others, especially young people striving for a better future.”
He further acknowledged that the success of the initiative would not have been possible without the strong support system around him.
