…As She collaborates with ANPA, Medplus to cure various range ailments

The Wife of Oyo State Governor, Engr. Tamunumini Makinde, has launched a three-day Omitun-tun Free Health Mission at all 33 local government areas of the state to provide affordable healthcare services to people at the grassroots level.
The free health mission is in conjunction with the Association of Nigerian Physicians in America (ANPA) and Medplus, a private healthcare company based in Lagos State.

The program was flagged off at Alaafara Primary Healthcare Centre, Oje, Ibadan, Oyo State.

In her address, Engr. Tamunumini Makinde emphasized the need for people to take care of their health, urging them to follow the drug prescriptions given by consulting doctors.

She stated that the program supports the state government’s efforts to provide affordable healthcare services for healthy living, noting that the present administration has renovated 299 healthcare centers in the state.
Mrs. Makinde expressed her appreciation to His Excellency Governor Seyi Makinde for the support given to her office to impact the lives of the people.
She also extended her appreciation to ANPA and Medplus for their collaborative effort with the Oyo State government to provide good health to the people at the grassroots.
Mrs Makinde proposed extending the healthcare initiative to all general hospitals in the state for the benefit of the people.
In her remarks, The Oyo State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Oluwaserimi Ajetunmobi, said that health is one of the cardinal pillars of the present administration, and the program aims to deliver sustainable healthcare to the people.
She advised the people to follow the details of prescription given to them by consulting Doctors inorder to stay healthy urging those suffering from one ailments to the other to make use of their drugs as prescribed to them.
In his address, The National President of ANPA, Dr. Clifford Eke, noted that this is the first time the association will extend its ANPA week to another state, and Oyo State is the first to receive medical care from them.
He also asked for more collaboration from the state government to be able to conduct surgery free of charge for the people inorder to prevent ailments, charging the people to avoid some lifestyles that can put their lives in danger.
Speaking with one of the Consultant Doctor Dr. Odesanya highlighted the prevalence of chronic medical issues such as diabetes and high blood pressure, urging the state government to invest more in primary care health centers.
He also advised nurses to learn from specialist doctors on how to treat arthritis.
In his remarks, The Executive Secretary of the Oyo State Primary Healthcare Board, Dr. Muideen Olatunji, expressed his appreciation to the wife of the Oyo State Governor for bringing the opportunity to the people at the grassroots for their health benefits.
The program, Omitun-tun Free Health Mission, targets all inhabitants of the 33 local government areas of the state to deliver them from chronic ailments.
